Hops & Trees

October 17, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Who says Mondays are a bummer? Break the mold by starting the week with a little lesson on local beer and native trees!  First, take a tour of Hops & Grain Craft Brewery and learn about their beer along with the sustainable practices the Austin company follows in their brewing process. Next, join Treefolks‘ Colleen Dieter and City of Austin’s Emily King on a tour of the East Side neighborhood highlighting various “street trees.”  We’ll come full circle, so stay and enjoy a refreshing beer in the Hops & Grain taproom! Walk and tour are free. Registration is required and opens October 1 here.

Families are welcome on the walk and in the tap room. The brewery tour is for adults only (18+) for safety reasons.

Emily King is the City of Austin’s Urban Forester. For the past 11 years, she has worked in various urban forestry leadership positions for the City of Austin. She is originally from Texas, and studied forest management at Texas A&M University.

This event is part of Texas Native Plant Week! Learn more here.
