Austin Museum Day

Father and daughter explore the world from atop the Observation Tower.

Join us for activities all over the Center, from family fun in the Luci and Ian Family Garden to a tours of late-summer blooms. Free admission, activities from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Ongoing Activities (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.):

  • Pick up a scavenger hunt at the Admissions Kiosk
  • Bubbles on the Family Garden Play Lawn
  • Activities with MathHappens on the Play Lawn
  • Discovery Carts in the Family Garden Pavilion
  • Take a self-paced audio tour with the TravelStorys app
  • Learn about early fall flowers with our bloom carts in the Great Hall
  • 20% off regularly priced merchandise in the Gift Store

Schedule of Activities:

  • 9 – 10 a.m.: Community yoga with ATX Yoga Girl
  • 10 a.m..: Docent-led garden tour (meet in the Courtyard)
  • 10:30 a.m.: Storytime in the Cedar Elm Outdoor Classroom
  • 10:30 a.m.: Seed-planting demonstration with Wildflower Center gardeners (meet in the Courtyard)
  • 11 a.m..: Docent-led garden tour (meet in the Courtyard)
  • 11 a.m.: “Barton Creek” author presentation and signing with Ed Crowell (McDermott Learning Center & Gift Store)
  • 11:30 a.m.: Storytime in the Cedar Elm Outdoor Classroom
  • Noon: Docent-led garden tour (meet in the Courtyard)
  • 12:30 p.m.: Storytime in the Cedar Elm Outdoor Classroom
