Our unique native plant gardens are designed to inspire, to educate and to demonstrate the sustainable use and conservation of native wildflowers, plants and landscapes. The 4.5 acre Ian and Luci Family Garden will combine whimsical features by one of the nation’s leading landscape architects with dramatic native plantings. Under construction now, it will open in Spring 2014.
Home to native Texas aquatic plants (and animals), the Wetland Pond is one of the many water features you will experience at the Wildflower Center.

The Wetland Pond is home to native Texas aquatic plants and animals. Not all Texas native plants like to keep their feet dry. The Wetland Pond features native Texas aquatic plants that can only grow in water or soil that is permanently saturated with water.
Keep a close look out for red-eared slider turtles and the occasional ribbon snake that make the Wetland Pond their home.
