- Look for red-eared sliders, gulf toads and ribbon snakes (non-poisonous) who live and feed in or around the pond.
- Spring visitors who look up diagonally from the pond may enjoy the special treat of seeing Athena, a great horned owl who has nested in an overhead sotol planter for some years now.
