Heartleaf goldeneye is an erect perennial 3-4 feet tall with clusters of flower heads about 1 inch across at the ends of the branching stems. Each head has 10-12 bright yellow ray flowers, and yellow disc flowers. The leaves and stems are covered with coarse hair. Leaves are broadest at the base and sharply pointed (248).
