Hybrid perennial. "Outline of leaf-blade broadly ovate-cordate, acuminate; stipules slightly fimbriate as in V. rostrata; like V. striata in its thick, short, blunt, spur and bearded lateral petals." (Bibref: 1797).
Hybrid progeny of Viola rostrata and V. striata. Named in honor of E. Lucy Braun, who first collected the species in 1917 near Cincinnati, OH.
