Original Format: Digital Orientation: Portrait Shot: A plant with an unidentified bryophyte in habitat. Photographer's note: "I discovered Asplenium monanthes in Florida Caverns State Park on November 10, 1992. It is extremely rare in the park. On October 30, 1992, I located three large plants at one location. I monitored these plants over the next several years. The three plants disappeared from this location. I suspect they died from consecutive years of severe drought. Since then, every time I am in the park I checked this location. Two years ago, I located three small sporophytes that suspected might be A. monanthes growing in the same location. This year they are larger and indeed A. monanthes. They didn't die and with continued normal rainfall hopefully they will continue to mature." Date Taken: 2010-02-27 NPIN Image Id: 50455
