Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: Source of cotton seeds in Georgia
Answered by: Nan Hampton

QUESTION:

Where can I buy cotton seeds????

ANSWER:

Try Bluegrass Gardens in Bonnieville, Kentucky or Reimer Seeds in Mount Holly, North Carolina. In Georgia and some other states where cotton is grown as a cash crop, it is against the law to grow ornamental cotton because of the boll weevil threat. Whatever state you are intending to plant the seeds, you should check with its Department of Agriculture to determine if it is legal to plant in the state.
