This taxon is a native subspecies of the Old World species, Taraxacum officinale. Some authorities raise it to species as Taraxacum ceratophorum.

Size Notes: Up to about 20 inches tall.
Fruit: Fruit is a cypsela (pl. cypselae). Though technically incorrect, the fruit is often referred to as an achene.
