The large flower heads of this 1 1/2-4 ft. perennial have yellow rays and brown discs. The rays are nearly 3 in. long and are usually drooping. The dark disc becomes cone-shaped and nearly an inch tall. Large coneflower’s slender stalks bear lance-shaped leaves which become progressively smaller up the stalk.
