Long stalks each bear a solitary, nodding, pink to bluish-lavender, bell-shaped flower.
The vine Leather Flower (C. crispa), has very similar, extremely fragrant flowers, but occurs in a wider range from southeast Virginia to Florida and west to Texas and southern Missouri.
