Branched or unbranched stems rise 6-8+ in. above a woody base. Basal leaves are cut into 3-7 blunt, often toothed lobes. The stem leaves are reduced, becoming linear near the flower head. Flowers, which occur singly or in few-flowered clusters, have white rays around a center of yellow discs.
