As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Description: The Kansas Native Plant Society (formerly Kansas Wildflower Society) was organized in 1978 to make people more aware of the beauty and value of our state's native wildflowers. We sponsor educational programs, provide lectures, workshops and field trips, and printed information. The mission of the Kansas Native Plant Society is to encourage awareness and appreciation of the native plants of Kansas in their habitats and in our landscapes by promoting education, stewardship, and scientific knowledge.
