As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Affiliates are organizations that partner with the Wildflower Center to encourage the preservation and use of native plants in different regions of the country.

Native Plant Focus: KCWL volunteers remove invasive, usually exotic plants from the area's remnant prairies, glades and forests to allow the high quality and diverse native flora to thrive again. KCWL trained volunteers also collect seed and replant seedlings back on these remnant natural communities.

Description: Kansas City WildLands is a Coalition of conservation-minded organizations, academic institutions, corporations, government entities and concerned citizens committed to the restoration, conservation and protection of the Kansas City region's natural communities by involving people in the stewardship of the land. All remnant natural communities that KCWL works on are on public lands.
