Location: Vacant lot, south side of Carriage Square--Oakwell Farms, San Antonio.
Latitude: 0.000000

Habitat: Full sun, well drained, alkaline, alluvial soil. Several colonies among Poaceae.

Description: Erect, herbaceous plant, to 30 cm tall from stout taproot. Ligneous near base. Many branches, appressed ascending. Leaves narrowly elliptic, light green, alternate, petiolate, to 2-3 x 4 cm. Inflorescence a long spike. Hypanthium 5-8 mm long. Fruit 4-angled, thick, fusiform.
