Shot: Close-up of a flower in a raceme. Photographer's note: "This is the male flower of beechdrops. The plant is parasitic on the roots of beech trees (Fagus grandifolia). The plants lack chlorophyll. There seemed to be some variability in color between different colonies. This plant was growing over 5,000 feet."
