City: McBee
County: Chesterfield
State: SC
Location Notes: Carolina Sandhills NWR Ham Branch Site.
Accession date: 2015-07-02
Filename: WCS_IMG0002.JPG
Slide Index: AMHE002
Restrictions: Unrestricted
Collection: Wildflower Center Digital Library
Original Format: Digital
Orientation: Portrait
Shot: A branch bearing inflorescences. Photographer's note: "Amorpha herbacea does very well in newly burned areas beneath mature longleaf pine. Amorpha herbacea is not showy but is quite common in the South Carolina Sandhills. It has too many common names and Weakley describes a more southern variant. Given the correct level of moisture and just slightly better soil, it can be as common as Tephrosia in newly burned longleaf tracts in the SC Sandhills."
