State: SC
Location Notes: Carolina Sandhills NWR Ham Branch Site.
Accession date: 2015-07-02
Filename: WCS_IMG0001.JPG
Slide Index: AMHE001
Restrictions: Unrestricted
Collection: Wildflower Center Digital Library
Original Format: Digital
Orientation: Portrait
Shot: Close-up of inflorescences. Photographer's note: "Distinctive compound leaflets and small blossoms with bright yellow stamens give this species a unique apperance. Amorpha herbacea is not showy but is quite common in the South Carolina Sandhills. It has too many common names and Weakley describes a more southern variant. Given the correct level of moisture and just slightly better soil, it can be as common as Tephrosia in newly burned longleaf tracts in the SC Sandhills."
