Abstract
Investigates the effects of burn season, seedling size, time since germination, and proximity to adults on the seedling survivorship of wiregrass (Aristida stricta var. beyrichiana) in restored longleaf pine ecosystems. Close proximity to adults and growing season burning decreased seedling survivorship. Seedling recruitment continued two years after seed drop. The authors recommend postponing growing season burning for one to two years following germination for seedling recruits to become established.Suggested Citation
