Abstract
Studies the relationship between genetic variation (expected heterozygosity and alleles per polymorphic locus) to population size and landscape variables. Genetic variation was measured for six endemic Florida scrub plants. Two species showed significant but inconsistent patterns while four species showed no patterns related to population or landscape. The authors conclude that genetic variation for conservation planning should be measured directly rather than inferred from other factors.Suggested Citation
