Abstract
Evaluates the effects of season of burning on tall grass prairie vegetation. Vegetation was burned annually for 8 years in either autumn, winter, or spring. Andropogon gerardii cover increased with all burn regimes; Sorghastrum nutans cover increased only with spring burning. Repeated autumn and winter burning eventually increased cover of Solidago canadensis.Suggested Citation
