Abstract
Investigates the role of allelopathy in the colonization success of goldenrods (including Solidago canadensis) on abandoned agricultural land. In the laboratory, leaf extracts of goldenrods reduced germination of co-occurring species. However, allelopathic effects in the field were not strong enough to alter community structure.Suggested Citation
