Habitat: Understory of Celtis, Ulmlus, Juglans. Damp, alkaline soil. Semi-shade.

Description: 5 m tree w/rounded crown, brown/smooth bark, thickly branched. Leaves alternate, trifoliate. Petioles to 7 cm. Leaflets sessile, variously shaped from eliptic to ovate; usually acute/acuminate, some blunt apically; occasionally appearing cuneate; sub-entire to dentate; medium green above, lighter below, glabrous, glandular, to 4x9 cm. Fruit/flowers absent.
