Habitat: Full sun; damp soil beside pond. Large colony. Common in area.

Description: Erect, single stem to 1 m tall, 4-angled. Shallow taproot. Lower leaves early deciduous; upper ones opposite, short petioled, lanceolate, toothed to 2x6 cm. Infloresence a terminal spike of 2-lipped, lavender corollas with darker dots.
