Habitat: Full sun; normal moisture; deep, alkaline, alluvial soil. Scattered among Poaceae.
Description: Erect, branched herb. Spikes slender, elongating in fruit, panicled and bracted at base. Leaves pinnatified. Calyx twice as long as schizocarp, constricted beyond it. Schizocarp constricted along lines of cleavage. Cocci without a beak, commisural face not reaching tip of coccus. Inflorescence elongating with age.
