Habitat: With mixed grasses mostly in full sun. Deep, dark, alkaline, well drained soil

Description: About 2' tall with jointed stems, unbranched, erect. Leaves dark green. Soft when rubbed base to tip, sticky when rubbed tip to base. Flowering plume from tips much branched. Stamens brown/tan. Plume has "foxtail" feel from long hairs of seed.
