Habitat: In full sun on dry, shallow, poor loamy soil. Among Poaceae that is mowed occasionally.

Description: Perennial to 8'; leaves slightly fleshy, margins recurved; petals five, orange; corolla 1" dia., opening mid-afternoon to sunset. Semi-abundant.
