Habitat: Level, alkaline soil. Full sun. Nominal Moisture. Several, scattered.
Description: Diffuse perennial to 6 dm tall from stout, woody tap-root. Lower stalk suffrutescent. Leaves ovate, truncate, serrate, 5 cm long x 3-4 cm wide. Petioles 7-16 mm, medium-green above/glabrate, stellate-tomentose beneath. Flowers solitary in axils. Pedicels 2-5 mm. Sepals 5, 7-8 mm long, appressed hirsute, ciliate, accrescent. Fruit a flattened sphere. Carpels-13, 1 seeded.
