Native Plants

Rey, Carole
Ever since Carole Rey owned a camera (and the first was a Brownie camera in the 60’s), she was interested in taking photos of nature, particularly of flowers and animals. She works in the tech field and uses photography to feed her creativity. She has never claimed to be other than an amateur photographer, but since owning digital cameras, she especially likes to use the macro feature to take close-ups of flowers. In the 70’s she took a wildflower class at Adams State College in Colorado and learned about identifying many different species. Every summer while spending time at her family cabin in Colorado, she manages to bring home a fresh batch of wildflower photos. Of course the beauty of digital cameras is that you can experiment with different angles and lighting, take many, many shots, and easily delete the ones that didn’t quite come out the way you’d like. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is committed to developing the premier resource for native plant images in North America through continued growth of the Plant Image Gallery. You can help us achieve our mission ...to increase the sustainable use and conservation of native wildflowers, plants, and landscapes... by becoming a contributor.
