Shot: Close-up of a senescent infructescence. Photographer's note: "This is granite stonecrop. It is a State listed threatened species in Georgia. This image shows last years seed structures. This is an important feature for identification between this species and Dimorpha smallii which is another annual stonecrop that occupies flatrock environments. Sedum pusillum most often grows in shade under eastern red cedar trees (Juniperus virginiana). Dimorpha smallii most often occupies habitats like exposed shallow vernal pools."
