Image Information

Photographer: Cressler, Alan
County: Whitfield
State: GA
Accession date: 2014-07-29
Filename: A_C_IMG0367.JPG
Slide Index: 13659906025_378e7b31b6_o.jpg
Restrictions: Unrestricted
Collection: Wildflower Center Digital Library
Original Format: Digital
Orientation: Portrait
Shot: Flowering plants. The photographer believes the orange-flowered plant in the foreground may be a hybrid of Trillium luteum and T. cuneatum. He may be right, but USDA Plants (our taxonomic authority) does not recognize that hybrid taxon. Photographer's note: "Yellow wakerobin is not overly common in Georgia. This site has thousands. Apparently parts of the site have been ravaged by ruthless Trillium collectors. The plant in the foreground displays intermediate characteristics with Trillium cuneatum. Color and flower smell are not consistent with Trillium luteum."
