Shot: Close-up of flowers, fruit, and leaf-like bracts. True flowers are minute with many staminate flowers and a single pitstillate flower clustered together in a cuplike receptacle; five fleshy glands surround each cluster and the cluster is surrounded by white margined leaf-like bracts. Fruit is a globelike capsule with three compartments. On a high quality prairie, plants will be few and far between. (A personal note - Snow-on-the-Prairie should be seen in the moonlight.)
