Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: Replacement of non-native red tip photinias in Midlothian VA
Answered by: Barbara Medford

QUESTION:

I need to replace our long lived red tips. They are now diseased. I would like a fast growing bush that I can trim and make a hedge with. Any suggestions

ANSWER:

Happily (for us at least), there is a previous Mr. Smarty Plants answer on this subject that is also from Virginia.
