Native Plants

Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?

Title: Planting onions in Michigan
Answered by: Nan Hampton
QUESTION:
Hello, I live in Mi in zone 5. Can I plant green onions now (7/30/09)? And will they have enough time to have for an October-ish harvast? ThanksANSWER:
Vegetable gardeing is really not within our realm of expertise. This is the sort of question that your Michigan State University Extension Service could best answer. They have a very helpful site, Gardening in Michigan, with vegetable gardening information. The Wayne County Extension office probably can help you as well.
