Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: Pruning Wax Myrtle trees & bushes
Answered by: Nan Hampton

QUESTION:

When is the best time of year to prune Wax Myrtle trees & bushes.

ANSWER:

February (hurry, it's almost gone) is a great time to prune wax myrtles, but they can be pruned at other times just avoid hot weather to prune them.  March would certainly work.  Please also see the answer to another recent question on pruning wax myrtles.
