Beauvoir Arboretum
In addition to the primary missions of Education about and Commemoration of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and other veterans of the Confederacy, Beauvoir has a secondary mission dedicated to educating the public about the environment. This mission is carried out by preserving, protecting, and displaying plants native to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and the unique species planted during President Davis' life at Beauvoir. Our fifty-two-acre campus offers an ecosystem which provides environmental and botanical research opportunities. We plan to offer many more cultural, scientific, and recreational programs in the near future. It is hoped that our Arboretum will display basic habitats of our tidal marsh associated with Oyster Bayou which runs the length of our campus.Printer Friendly: Species List | List with Images | List with QR Tags to Mobile
