This EPA Level III ecoregion encompasses all or part of 42 Texas counties. Lying entirely within the state, it is commonly referred to as the Texas Hill Country. This ecoregion covers approximately the same land area as the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Edwards Plateau vegetative region.
