Can you suggest a ground cover or plant that loves shade and is drought tolerant in the Austin Region? If the two do not coexist can you suggest a ground cover for shade.ANSWER:
Here is a list of native drought-tolerant plants that will grow in shade or part shade in Austin:
Chasmanthium latifolium (Inland sea oats)
Phyla nodiflora (turkey tangle fogfruit)
Calyptocarpus vialis (straggler daisy)
Packera obovata (roundleaf ragwort)
Carex planostachys (cedar sedge)
