Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: Smarty Plants on Echinacea paradoxa
Answered by: Nan Hampton

QUESTION:

What kind of habitat (soil, sun, water etc) does Echinacea paradoxa like to live in?

ANSWER:

You can read about the Yellow Coneflower (Echinacea paradoxa) in the Native Plants Database. Select "Growing Conditions" from the menu at the top of the page to learn some of the information you are looking for. The Missouri Botanical Garden database and Dave's Garden web page have additional information.
