This stout, upright perennial grows from 3-6 ft. The solitary stem may be branched in the flowering portion. Numerous purple-spotted, lavender, rose, or whitish, funnel-shaped flowers are clustered in a dense, terminal spike.
This plant attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
