Abundant as under-story tree in wooded areas.
Description:
Tree, 6 m tall, numerous branches. Cordate leaves are 5 cm wide, dark green and shiny. Clusters of pink flowers precede the leaves. Individual flowers are .05-1 cm wide on pedicels 1-2 cm long. Each flower has 5 petals and 10 stamens.
