Associate Program

Description: The Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) is an 501 c3 non-profit founded in 2011. The mission of this organization is to protect the genetic integrity and heritage of Long Island native plant populations and thus biodiversity from a landscape to genetic level, by establishing commercial sources of genetically appropriate local (ecotypic) plant materials for use in nursery, landscaping, and habitat restoration activities. LINPI\'s plants are truly native being propagated from seed harvested locally from LI\'s natural areas making them the most environmentally and ecologically adapted plants to Long Island\'s conditions. LINPI holds an annual plant sale open to the public and professionals every June and by appointment after through the season.
