Samantha joined the Wildflower Center in January of 2005. She has been lead horticulturist in almost all areas of the gardens, including the Ann and OJ. Weber Pollinator Habitat Garden, the Insectary, the Entrance Garden, the Courtyard, and the Woodland Garden. She was especially involved in the establishment of the Luci and Ian Family Garden, where she assisted in plant design, construction and installation.
In her current role as gardens manager, Samantha directs all garden staff and guides the design and maintenance of all Center gardens. She also coordinates and schedules activities for our numerous horticulture volunteers and interns.
Prior to joining the Wildflower Center, Samantha had 10 years of experience in horticulture, including working for community gardens, retail garden centers, Oregon State University, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and the Williamson County and Cities Health District. She received her bachelor’s in horticulture from Oregon State University.
