Ryan Mecredy

Propagation Specialist

Ryan has been at the Center for a little over four years and has been working in the horticulture field for over 13.

After wildfires devastated Bastrop County in 2011, Ryan (along with coworkers and volunteers) grew and distributed loblolly pine seedlings (Pinus taeda) to the area for reforestation. He was also responsible for planting and caring for 300 endangered Tobusch fishhook cacti (Ancistrocactus tobuschii) as a mitigation project in 2012.

Ryan says horticulture has always been a passion of his and he doesn’t see that changing anytime soon.
