Leslie D. Zachary
Director of Development
Leslie joined the Wildflower Center full time in October 2016. She oversees the grant writing program, develops new fundraising events, and cultivates donors who have both longstanding relationships with the Center and are new to our programs. Prior to her full time position, Leslie was hired temporarily as manager of the Center’s May 2016 Wildflower Gala, the Center’s largest revenue-producing event for many, many years.
Leslie has an extensive history in volunteer fundraising. She volunteered for the Wildflower Gala for several years prior to being hired as the gala manager in 2016 and has managed galas and silent auctions for St. Stephen’s Episcopal School and Austin Speech Labs, both in Austin, Texas, as well as the Long Ridge School in Stamford, Connecticut. She also served on the board of the Stamford Land Conservation Trust.
Prior to raising her children, Leslie developed her marketing, sales and corporate events experience at the International Wool Secretariat and Pendleton Woolen Mills. Leslie has a bachelor’s in American literature and Italian language from Middlebury College.
