Jayne Nussbaum

Jayne Nussbaum

Development Assistant

Before joining the Wildflower Center in April 2021, Jayne enjoyed an eclectic 27-year career in public health and public service in governmental, nonprofit and academic settings, including most recently at the Department of Population Health at Dell Medical School. She served in a variety of capacities, including development, managerial, government affairs and policy, communications, and external relations.

Jayne’s love affair with the Wildflower Center took off when she started bringing Willie, her father and New Orleans gardener extraordinaire, regularly after he moved to Austin post–Hurricane Katrina. She and her partner, Judy, are also graduates of the Wildflower Center’s 2020 American Beautyberry docent class.

Jayne received a bachelor’s degree in geology from Louisiana State University and a master’s of public affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening (of course!), as well as hiking, paddling and camping in the great outdoors.
