Fortlandia opens to Wildflower Center members on Oct. 2, 2021, and to the general public on Oct. 4, 2021. The exhibition will remain in the Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum through Jan. 30, 2022.

New This Year

In addition to the six selected forts, the exhibition will feature silvana, an immersive light maze appearing for the first time in North America, by Ben Busche of Brut Deluxe. Decor IQ will handle the installation.

The Center has also partnered with The Trail Foundation to bring two forts to the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake.

More About Fortlandia

The Center’s popular Fortlandia exhibition debuted in 2018 with ten fantasy forts created by local artists, architects and designers. The exhibition aims to connect people of all ages to the environment by evoking a sense of childhood play and wonder. Guests are encouraged to explore the forts and vote for their favorite. The main exhibition is held in the 16-acre Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum, a signature feature of the Wildflower Center that highlights native trees and shrubs of the state.
