In bloom, large-flower bellwort’s stems are less than one foot tall, but later the forking stem lengthens. The bell-shaped, pale-yellow flowers are nodding and the perianth parts are often twisted. This clump-forming perennial’s leaves are drooping and lily-like and are paler green than those of most woodland plants.
