Seaside fleabane or seaside daisy multiply branched, 6-16 in. stems form compact, leafy tufts with broad, pale-green to blue-green leaves. Bristly-hairy, sticky stems grow from a basal rosette, each long branch topped by a flower head with many narrow pale pink or lavender rays surrounding a yellowish disc. Large, aster-like flower heads, with violet rays and yellow centers, adorn the branch tips.

Succulence is a common feature of seaside plants, and this daisy is unusual in its genus, for it, too, is slightly succulent.
