Appendaged Waterleaf (Hydrophyllum appendiculatum) has showier lavender flowers than, and leaves that are lobed but not as deeply cut as, those of Virginia Waterleaf (H. virginianum). Its range is from Ontario and Minnesota south to Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Missouri, and eastern Kansas.
